How do you reach a real person at Microsoft for help. Microsoft did a security update on 9/9/2026 and now my computer is non-functional . I am not able to uninstall 1 of the 4 downloads put on my computer. Can't reach anyone at Microsoft to find out how to get the 4th download out so I can use my computer. If this is the customer service Microsoft is now providing with only Al robots that disconnect you after they give you a website that was useless and I can't get my computer back up and working with Microsofts help then I think I need to spend my money elsewhere and buy another computer system that is not from Microsoft.

Hi kathleen labrecque,

I can understand how frustrating this must be, especially when your computer stopped working properly after an update and you have been unable to reach a support agent.

To help narrow down the issue, could you please confirm:

  • Can the computer still reach the Windows desktop, or is it stuck on a black screen, error screen, or restart loop?
  • What is the KB number of the update that cannot be removed? You may find it under Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history.
  • What exact error message or code appears when you try to uninstall it?

If Windows cannot start normally, enter the Windows Recovery Environment and select Troubleshoot > Advanced options. From there, try Uninstall Updates and remove the latest quality update. If that does not resolve the problem, try Startup Repair or System Restore, provided that a restore point from before the issue is available.

Please also be aware that support for Windows 10 ended on October 14, 2025. Windows 10 devices can still operate, but Microsoft no longer provides free software updates, security fixes, or technical assistance for Windows 10.

This is a user-to-user support forum, so contributors and moderators cannot remotely access your computer or connect you directly to Microsoft’s internal support systems. You can still try Contact Microsoft Support. If the automated assistant appears, enter “I need to speak with a live support agent” and follow any available contact options.

Before using Reset or reinstalling Windows, please back up any important files if possible because some recovery options may result in data loss. Thank you so much for your understanding.

Vickie After 1 week of trying to reach Microsoft, including calling their main office in Redmond Washington where you get nobody but a worthless robot that tells you nobody by that name works here including the president Brad Smith, I finally reached a real person. They told me the issue was not their problem but it started with the download they put in my computer. It seems my display driver changed when these downloads were done and as usual Microsoft takes no responsibility for it. I then spoke with HP who went into my computer to try to fix it but because of the constant flickering and me not being able to get her to where she had to go in the computer she was not able to fix it so now it's in the repair shop and of course at my expense. So this is my last Microsoft product as this happed because of their download. Thank you for your help but it was a challenge for me each time I tried to reply to you.
