    Hi Binyam,

The renewal process for GitHub Student Dev Pack and Azure For Students (A4S) is separate. That's why even though you renew your student eligibility on GitHub, you still need to "renew" A4S each year.

You can try any one of these:

    1. Try the Azure For Students flow, with the Sign Up for GitHub option. Go to https://signup.azure.com/studentverification?offerType=1, complete the flow with Sign In with GitHub option. Also ensure for seamless verification, you have your student email set as your primary email set under GitHub.
    2. Redeem the Azure benefit code from the GitHub Student Dev Pack, at https://education.github.com/pack and click on the A4S offer. Complete the flow with the One-Time code and the flow.
    3. One thing to keep in mind, A4S is an annual credit offer, which allows to renew once per year. It usually allows you to do it around ~28-30 days before the anniversary date of your activation. If it's too early, please try when you are in the date range.
    4. If the issue still persists, try one of these troubleshoot steps:
      • Use an incognito tab to complete the process. Older cookies and cache may cause issues.
      • If nothing works out, you can open a support ticket via the Azure Portal.

I hope it helps you out! If the answer is helpful, please click "Yes". If you have extra questions about this answer, please click "Comment".

    Thank You, Saksham

Renewing GitHub Student does not automatically turn the Azure subscription back on in all cases.

    What applies here:

    1. If this was Azure for Students tied to the 12-month offer or $100 credit
      • After the credit is exhausted or the 12 months end, the Azure for Students subscription is canceled or disabled.
      • To continue using Azure services, either:
        • sign up again for the Azure for Students offer if renewal is available and student eligibility is still valid, or
        • upgrade to pay-as-you-go in the Azure portal if renewal is not available.
    2. If the old Azure for Students subscription is already gone
      • A renewed GitHub student benefit can add credit, but the Azure for Students subscription itself may still need to be provisioned separately.
      • The documented renewal flow is to sign up again for the offer.
    3. If the subscription still stays off after renewal
      • Create an Azure billing/support request so the subscription provisioning or renewal eligibility can be reviewed.
      • For Azure for Students reactivation after accidental cancellation, or to upgrade after credit expiry, the guidance is to contact Azure support.
    4. Important data impact
      • If a subscription is disabled and no action is taken, deployed products can be decommissioned and become inaccessible.

    Practical next steps:

    1. Check whether the Azure for Students subscription appears in Azure portal > Subscriptions.
    2. Check remaining or renewed credit in the Azure Sponsorships portal.
    3. If no active Azure for Students subscription exists, sign up again for Azure for Students.
    4. If renewal/sign-up does not create the subscription, open a billing support request in Azure.
    5. If Azure services must continue immediately, upgrade to pay-as-you-go.
