Hello Sal Battaglia
I’m sorry to hear that your recent Excel work was not saved. Before contacting support, please try the following recovery steps on your Mac:
- Reopen Excel. If an AutoRecovered version appears, save it immediately under a new file name.
- In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder, then enter:
/Users/your-username/Library/Containers/com.microsoft.Excel/Data/Library/Application Support/Microsoft
Replace your-username with your macOS account name. Check for a recently modified recovery file and, if found, open it in Excel and use File > Save As.
- If the workbook was stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, open it from the browser and check Version history for a version containing the missing changes.
- If the workbook is still open in Excel, do not close it. Try File > Save As, use a different file name, and save it to a local folder such as Documents or Desktop.
If you selected Don’t Save when closing the workbook, its AutoRecover copy may have been removed. Recovery therefore cannot be guaranteed.
