The steps depend on your model, but here’s how to print an alignment page on most HP printers without replacing a cartridge.

    From the printer’s control panel

Load plain white paper in the input tray.

On the printer screen, go to Setup (or the wrench/gear icon) → Printer Maintenance (or Tools).

Choose Align Printhead (or Align Cartridges).

Press OK or Start. The printer prints an alignment page and usually scans it automatically. If it asks, place the page face-down on the scanner glass and press OK.

    From a Windows PC

Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.

Right-click your HP printer → Printing preferences.

Open the Services or Maintenance tab.

Click Align Printer (or Align Ink Cartridges) and follow the prompts.

    With HP Smart app

Open HP Smart and select your printer.

Tap Printer Settings → Print Quality Tools (or Advanced Settings).

Choose Align Printer or Align Cartridges.

    Using the printer’s web page

Find your printer’s IP address on its display or network configuration page.

Type that IP address into a browser.

Open the Tools or Settings tab → Print Quality Toolbox → Align Printer.
