    Hi Lana,

In addition to the steps above, please confirm that Microsoft Rewards is supported in your new country, as availability and redemption options vary by region. You can check the Microsoft Rewards regions list.

I also recommend signing out of all Microsoft services, including Bing, Edge, Xbox and Rewards. Then clear your browser’s cache and cookies, restart the browser, and sign back in. Please also try accessing Rewards through another browser, device or local network, such as mobile data instead of Wi-Fi.

Kindly note that this is a user-to-user support forum. Moderators and contributors, including external Microsoft employees, cannot directly interfere with Microsoft product features or access back-end systems. My role is limited to providing technical guidance on reported issues, requests or ideas.

If the restriction remains, please contact Microsoft Rewards Support. Sign in with the affected account and include the exact error message, your current country and the troubleshooting steps you have already tried. Only the Rewards Support team can review account-specific region restrictions.

I hope this helps resolve the issue.

If the move is long-term, update the region in the Microsoft account and device settings, then use Microsoft Rewards only from the current country/region.

    1. Change the Microsoft account profile region:
      • Go to the Your info page of the Microsoft account dashboard.
      • Select Edit profile info.
      • Change Country or region to the new one.
    2. Change the Windows region:
      • Windows 11: Start > Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region > Country or region.
      • Windows 10: Start > Settings > Time & Language > Region > Country or region.
    3. If using Xbox, change the console location:
      • Press the Xbox button > Profile & system > Settings > System > Language & location.
      • Change Location to the new country/region, then restart the console.
    4. If using Microsoft Store online:
      • Go to the Microsoft Store online.
      • At the bottom of the page, select the World icon and choose the new language and region.
    5. For Microsoft Rewards specifically:
      • Rewards availability varies by region.
      • If traveling to a country where Rewards is available, points can still be earned as long as earning is not done consistently in multiple markets.
      • Do not use a VPN or any service that alters the true IP address of the location. That can cause the account to be flagged or suspended.

If the restriction continues, common reasons include:

    • The country or region was changed within the last three months.
    • The account is suspended.
    • The account has age-related region restrictions.

If the account is still restricted after updating the region and using a local network in the new country, contact Microsoft Rewards Support using the support form.

    Important:

    • Microsoft recommends changing region only when moving for a long time.
    • Items obtained in one region may not work in another.
    • Microsoft account funds do not move between regions, so spend the existing balance before changing region.
