Initially I have some problems with the program. Corel suggested to reinstall it witch I did. Now I can't even launch the program.

Corel have issued a Hotfix at https://kb.corel.com/en/131200

It is simply a zip file containing a replacement uvDV.dll, so the instructions are...

    1. Make sure you do not have any orphaned VS23 tasks ...
      1. Right-click task bar and select Task Manager
      2. In the top search bar type "vid"
      3. Make sure there is no Video Studio background process still running after a crash
      4. If there is an orphaned VS23 task, right-click on it and select End Task
    2. Rename the original uvDV.dll which will probably be found in C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel VideoStudio 2023. Corel suggest renaming to uvDV.dll-original
    3. Drop the new copy of uvDV.dll included in the Hotfix zip file (it's the only contents of the zip) into the VS23 directory
    4. And you’re done 😀

I had found Win11 26H2 did not resolve the issue, but this new uvDV.dll does

Just a note to say a move to Win11 26H2 has not changed anything. Same behaviour as before

Here is a Temporary Workaround from Corel:

VideoStudio 2023 Startup Failure on Windows 11 After Late August–Early September 2026 Updates

Hope it helps for now, and waiting for Microsoft to fix things.

Okay, I appear to have a workaround:

    1. Rename <uvDV.dll> as @Steven Tiberius mentions
    2. Start VS23
    3. With VS23 running, rename <uvDV.dll> back to its correct name
    4. Now carry on editing. It appears stable

Of note, my system doesn't and didn't have KB5120998 and yet I hit the VS23 load issue. The system also isn't running KB5124008 or KB5124010 so by my experience, these aren't involved in this issue

    Today, we got this update.

Still, it didn't fix our problem; the issue is persistent.

    Microsoft, PLEASE HELP!

My projects and work have been broken for over two weeks!
