New Outlook works well on my old computer and webmail works with my email and password. The computer with Office 3

65 downloaded will not allow me to sign in to the @bigpond.com domain. Please help?

The screen keeps coming back to say "You need to sign in" and prompts for my password which has been confirmed as correct

    Do I understand correctly?

    • You had New Outlook for Windows on your old PC and it could connect to your BigPond email account OK?
    • The BigPond web mail site works OK on the new PC.
    • But New Outlook for Windows on the new PC will not connect to your BigPond email account?

First thing to try would be to Remove the BigPond account and add it back.

If that doesn't help, you can try clearing your New Outlook for Windows profile and starting from scratch.

If none of this helps, come back and we'll try something else.

Since webmail works with the same email and password, the mailbox and password are valid. This points to a client-side sign-in issue in Outlook on that computer.

    Try these steps in order:

    1. Confirm the account in a browser first
      • Sign in to the mailbox in a browser.
      • If sign-in succeeds there, continue with the Outlook app steps.
    2. Remove and add the account again in New Outlook
      • In New Outlook, go to Settings > Accounts > Your accounts.
      • Select Manage beside the affected account.
      • Remove the account, then add it again.
    3. Repair or reset New Outlook if the sign-in prompt keeps looping
      • Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Outlook (new) > Advanced options.
      • Try Repair first.
      • If that does not help, use Reset, then open New Outlook and add the account again.
      • Note: Reset removes the app’s local settings on that PC.
    4. If Outlook says sign in through a browser, complete that sign-in there first
      • After successful browser sign-in, close Outlook completely.
      • Reopen Outlook and try again.
    5. If the account is still not accepted, use the provider password for that mailbox
      • For a @bigpond.com mailbox, Outlook may require the password used by that email provider for the mailbox.

The supported guidance in the available material for New Outlook focuses on removing and re-adding the account, repairing or resetting the New Outlook app, and confirming browser sign-in first when the password is known to be correct.
