Incorrect Location Showing in Teams Meeting Scheduler

Hi Team,

I am facing an address-related issue in Microsoft Teams. Whenever I schedule a meeting and select a location, it is showing an incorrect address. Previously, the correct location was displayed, as I have updated the address on both Google Maps and Bing Maps.

However, the location currently appearing is incorrect, and I am not sure where Teams is fetching this address from, as I have never provided or configured this address anywhere.

Could you please help me to correct the location information? Kindly let me know the source from where Teams is retrieving this address, I will update it if required.

Hi Ana,

The location has already been published, but it is still showing an incorrect address. I logged a case with Microsoft over a month ago; however, the issue has not been resolved yet. I'm not sure why it is taking so long.

Is there any other way to get this resolved more quickly?

Hi,

The address shown in the Teams meeting scheduler is not necessarily taken from a location configured in your Teams profile. It depends on the type of location you select.

If you type the name of a public place, business, or street address and select an autocomplete result, Microsoft documents Bing Autosuggest and Bing local search as sources for calendar location results. Updating Google Maps would therefore not directly update this suggestion. For an incorrect business listing or map result, use the Bing Places/Bing Maps correction options listed here: How to report a concern or contact Bing | Microsoft Support As a temporary workaround, enter the correct full address as plain text instead of selecting the incorrect suggestion. If Bing already displays the correct address but Teams still shows an older result, please note that Microsoft does not publish a guaranteed refresh time for these suggestions.
If you are selecting an internal meeting room through Browse rooms or Places Finder, the information comes from your organization’s Exchange Online room data and Microsoft Places configuration, not from Google or Bing Maps. Your Microsoft 365 administrator should review the room and its associated building in the Admin portal - Microsoft Places | Microsoft Learn. Microsoft explains the properties used by Room Finder and Places Finder here: Enable Places finder - Microsoft Places | Microsoft Learn.

To identify the source, could you please confirm:

Is the incorrect result a public address/business, or a company meeting room?
Does the same incorrect address appear when scheduling through Teams on the web and Outlook on the web?
Which Teams client are you using: Windows, Mac, web, or mobile?

A screenshot of the Location result would also help, but please mask email addresses and any other sensitive information before posting it publicly.

Does the same incorrect address appear when scheduling through Teams on the web and Outlook on the web? Yes same with web too.

Which Teams client are you using: Windows, Mac, web, or mobile? Windows, Web & Mobile every where showing the same incorrect address.

Thank you for confirming that this is a public address and that the same result appears across Teams and Outlook.

Could you please search for the location directly in Bing Maps and check whether the correct address is currently displayed there, rather than only confirming that an update request was submitted?

If Bing Maps still shows the incorrect address, submit the correction through Bing Maps Feedback. If this is a business listing, use Bing Places instead. Microsoft provides both options here: How to report a concern or contact Bing.

If Bing Maps already shows the correct address but Teams and Outlook continue displaying the incorrect one, ask your Microsoft 365 administrator to open a support request through Microsoft 365 admin center > Help & support or you can follow the instruction in this article: Get support - Microsoft 365 admin | Microsoft Learn. Include the exact search term, the incorrect and expected addresses, a link or screenshot showing the correct Bing Maps result, and confirmation that the issue occurs on Windows, web, and mobile. This will allow Support to investigate the mismatch between the live map result and the Microsoft 365 calendar suggestion.

You may also report the mismatch through Microsoft Teams · Community, but a Microsoft 365 support request is the better option if you require a tracked investigation.

In the meantime, enter the correct full address manually instead of selecting the incorrect suggested result.

It was showing incorrect information on Bing Maps as well, so I deleted it and synced it again from Gmail. It is now showing that the changes may take 7-12 days to be published.

Thank you for the update.

Since Bing Maps now shows that the changes are pending publication and may take 7–12 days, please allow that process to complete first.

Once the correct address is publicly visible in Bing Maps, please search for the same location again in Teams and Outlook on the web:

If the correct address appears, no further action is required.

If Bing Maps shows the correct address but Teams and Outlook still show the old one, your Microsoft 365 administrator can then open a support request through Microsoft 365 admin center > Help & support and provide screenshots of both results for comparison.

In the meantime, you can manually enter the correct full address without selecting the incorrect suggestion.

Please feel free to update this thread after the Bing Maps change has been published.
