Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Michelle,
If Outlook accepts your password but asks for it again every time you reopen the app, the issue can sometimes be related to the local Outlook profile rather than the saved credentials themselves.
You may want to try creating a new Outlook profile:
- Close Outlook.
- Open Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles.
- Select Add, create a new profile, and set up your email account.
- Choose Always use this profile and select the new profile.
- Open Outlook and test whether the sign-in prompt returns.
If the issue continues, it would help to know:
- Which version of Outlook you're using (Microsoft 365, Outlook 2021, etc.)
- Whether this is a Microsoft account, work/school account, or another email provider
- If the problem started after a recent password change, update, or PC change
Hopefully a fresh profile resolves the repeated sign-in prompts. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment" or "Add Answer" if you cannot add comment so your response will be visible. Thanks for your effort.
