One drive password protected link cannot verify on mobile devices

Hello,

I am facing an issue with password protected folder sharing in one drive

I created a folder -> Click on share -> Click on settings -> Set a password and expiration date -> Saved the settings -> copied link.

Sharing the link when it is accessed via a mobile device does not pass verify while on computers work fine.

Anyone else has this issue? Any known solutions?

    Dear Microsoft staff,

    I am facing the same issue. There seems to be a problem with your mobile site. I found a workaround:

    1. Open the link in mobile web browser
    2. In the mobile web browser request the desktop version of the web site
    3. Type password and the folder behind the link opens

    Could you please provide the following details?

    • Does the issue occur on iOS, Android, or both?
    • Are recipients opening the link in the OneDrive app, a mobile browser (Safari/Chrome), or from within another app such as Outlook, Teams, or WhatsApp?
    • What exactly happens during verification? For example:
    • Does the password prompt appear?
      • Is an error message displayed after entering the password?
      • Does the page remain stuck on the verification screen?
      • Can you reproduce the issue on multiple mobile devices?

    As an initial troubleshooting step, please try opening the shared link directly in a mobile browser (Safari or Chrome) instead of the OneDrive app or an embedded browser within another application. Also ensure the OneDrive app is updated to the latest version if the link is being opened through the app.
