Last night I got an alert that my Insider Build was about to expire so I went to Settings and tried to initiate an update. It seemed to go well but this morning I got another alert about the current build expiring, so I assume it didn't work. I tried again but after more than 30 minutes now, it is still showing 0% downloaded, despite me (obviously) having a working internet connection.
I noticed that there are several others on the Insider Hub with the same issue. I tried to run the troubleshooter but it said it couldn't run.
OK, all of a sudden it's installing and it's at 20% but I still have little or no confidence that it will work any better this time than last. If it does happen to succeed, I'll let you know.

Hi Bones,
Glad you got it resolved and are

Fourth time was a charm. I gave it another go with absolutely nothing connected to it but the power supply and it installed without a hitch. The only thing I can think of that might have been causing trouble is the USB 3 dock I use for my peripherals. Whatever, it's all good now. Thanks very much for all your help. I expected to have to wait days to get any, it's very refreshing to see so many people so active. Cheers!
Hello Bones,
Error 0xC1900101 usually refers to a driver concern. Suggest you reset the windows update components manually.
Do you see any yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager. Right-click the problematic device and select Update Driver. Choose Search automatically for drivers. If updating fails, right-click the device and select Uninstall device, then restart your PC to reinstall the driver automatically.
You might also try a clean boot and retry upgrade

Hi Bones,
Do you have any 3rd party AV?
Do you have enough free disk space?
Have you tried doing a repair install?
Hi BONES,
I understand why this would be concerning, especially with the current Insider build showing an expiration warning.
At this point, I recommend that you review and try the steps provided in the AI generated answer on your thread. That reply typically include the most relevant checks for this scenario.
Since the update has now moved from 0% to installing, I’d suggest letting the current attempt complete while keeping the device connected to power and the internet. Could you let us know whether it finishes successfully or rolls back to build 26220.8925?
If it fails again, please check Settings > Windows Update > Update history and share any error code shown there. It would also help to know which Windows Insider channel you’re currently enrolled in and what message appears when you try to run the troubleshooter.
