I found a better solution then doing all thos command mess stuff that generally wont help anyways, none of it worked for me
Windows 11 the stuck working on updates but nothing is happening even after a reboot it goes back to that same state.
The solution i found its their is a problem with microsofts update server connection and the windows PC system on start up trying to reconnect to that for the update, the update has been moved but the connection on a PC start up still keeps looking for something not thier any more, so it stays on working on updates to a connection to the files it will never get to.
The simple FIX i did, was i changed the pause updates to instead of todays date, i paused updates and picked a date several 3 or 4 days out. this finally stoppped the spinning endless working on updates going no place.
Then since restart the PC the windows update wont automatically start and look again since its paused for many days later, so it wont connect on start up automatically this is the key to it.
then once booted back up because windows update is not on or looking for anything because the entire services are paused for later date. so no activation on boot occurs. then set you date back to todays date unpause the updates and it starts up the services NEW again and relooks for a fresh updates list, and then it does the updates normally again.
this method works every time for me if it gets stuck.
This is the issue with windows update server and some PC's and their networks on boot up sequencing to start up its to slow so the windows update services connection with the network fails and it gets stuck. and it doesnt have a auto retry system in it, just sits and spins to a failed connection, their is no error messeages for this task so this is why it does that.
So if you have it paused an a later date on PC boot up it wont auto look, so the start up processes of all the other things its doing to boot up and run and connect to network.
once the PC is booted up can go check the internet connection is solid and working no delays, and all the services and apps loaded so they wont interfer start up with the update server connections.
then unpause windows update and it will look for a fresh new connection with a established connection enable and no boot services interfering on start up.
pause windows update change it to 3 or 4 days later, then you will see the service stop spinning no longer looking or stuck,
then reboot, the get to a good desktop and check solid internet online, then unpause and change date back to today, and windows update will do a fresh connect to the update server and look for them as normal.
