Windows 11, Microsoft Automatic Pop Up Screen "Recommended for You"

Windows 11 is SOOO very frustrating. I really wish that I hadn't upgraded. Nothing I do will get rid of the Recommended for you that Microsoft has embedded into the software. I don't want this automatic default system entry. There is so much unwanted junk in Windows 11. I've gone through settings, default, appearance settings and nothing gets rid of this pop up. Since Microsoft Windows 11 doesn't have a fix to eliminate this problem; does anyone out there have a real solution to get rid of this headache....

    Hi,

This is how I have my Start settings set:

    User's image

I do not have Recommended showing, but

I'm also on an Insider build. If these settings haven't

made it to public Windows 11 yet you will

have to wait for the next feature release in

    the Fall.

    Welcome TheresaZ,

I understand how frustrating it can be when you are frustrated by the "Recommended for you" content appearing in Windows 11 and have not been able to disable it through the settings you have already tried.

Before proceeding, could you please confirm:

    • Does the "Recommended for you" appear in the Start menu, Notifications, File Explorer, or as a separate pop-up window?
    • Which Windows 11 version are you using? (Settings > System > About)

In the meantime, you can try these steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Option 1: Disable Windows tips and suggestions

    • Open Settings > System > Notifications
    • Scroll down and turn off Get tips and suggestions when using Windows

Option 2: Turn off personalized recommendations

    • Open Settings > Privacy & security > General
    • Turn off all available recommendation and advertising options

Option 3: Disable Start menu recommendations

    • Open Settings > Personalization > Start
    • Turn off Show recently added apps
    • Turn off Show recently opened items in Start, Jump Lists, and File Explorer

Option 4: Turn off account-related notifications

    • Open Settings > Personalization > Start
    • Turn off Show account-related notifications occasionally in Start if available

Option 5: Disable Windows welcome experiences

    • Open Settings > System > Notifications > Additional settings
    • Clear Show the Windows welcome experience after updates
    • Clear Suggest ways to get the most out of Windows

I hope the steps above help you deal with your issue.
