How do I update Kindle on a Windows 10 platform? I can't find any way to do this and I don't have windows 11 because I don't want to mess up my computer trying to load that.

Amazon dropped the support for the legacy Kindle app on Windows as of June 30, 2026. The supported Kindle for Windows app requires Windows 11, according to the Microsoft Store, but have you tried to install it? Does it complain? Why not just use Kindle for Web at https://read.amazon.com/kindle-library? Then it won't matter what version of Windows you use.

The new Kindle for PC (same as web Kindle) does NOT read the text for me. This is why Amazon is switching to the new Kindle for PC. It is not to take advantage of Windows 11. Prove me wrong.
