I cannot open the volume icon. It has an X showing

    How long does this problem occur with your system?

    Your system might be missing necessary audio drivers. Please navigate to your laptop or motherboard support page to download and install audio drivers for your system.

    If you have trouble finding the right one, please give me your laptop or motherboard model.

    The red X on the speaker icon means Windows doesn't detect any audio device. Try this:

    1. Check if the audio device is enabled:

    Press Windows key + R and type mmsys.cpl**
    **Right-click in the empty area of the Playback tab > check **"Show Disabled Devices"
    **If your speakers appear there, right-click > **Enable

    1. Update or reinstall the audio driver:
      **
      Open **Device Manager
      **Expand **Sound, video and game controllers
      **Right-click your audio device > **Update driver
      **If that doesn't work, right-click > Uninstall device, then restart your PC.
