Sending, receiving, and organizing email in Outlook.com
Hi Tim Baum
I understand how frustrating this can be, especially when verification codes are required to access banking or reservation services.
To better assist you, could you please clarify:
- Are you using a personal Outlook.com/Hotmail/Live account, or a work/school account?
- Do these verification emails ever appear in your “Junk Email” folder?
- When did the issue start?
In the meantime, please try these checks in Outlook on the web:
1, Check the Junk Email folder
- Sign in to Outlook.com via a browser
- In the left pane, select Junk Email
- Use the search box and search for the bank's name or email address
- If you find the message, open it and select Not junk
2, Review your inbox rules
- Select the Settings (gear) icon in the upper-right corner
- Choose Mail > Rules
- Review any existing rules that may move, delete, or redirect messages
- Temporarily disable suspicious rules and test again
3, Add the sender to Safe Senders
- Go to Settings > Mail > Junk email
- Under Safe senders and domains, select Add
- Enter the bank's email address or domain (if known)
- Select Save
4, Check the Deleted Items folder
- Open Deleted Items
- Search for the bank's name or email address
- If found, restore the message to the Inbox
Please feel free to let me know how it goes after trying these steps and thank you for your understanding.
