Basically title says all... When new tab is opened, I see no option to change search engine from bing there. Also, it would be very nice to be able to delete bing from search enginges in edge.

There is no working method available to change the search engine used on the new tab page, the settings in Edge only allow you to change the search engine used on the address bar.

The best option would be to download an extension from the Edge Add-Ons store to allow you to change the new tab page, then use that to set your new tab page to the main web page for the search engine you prefer to use.

On the Microsoft Edge new tab page, the search box is always powered by Bing and cannot be changed to another search engine. The new tab search box is designed to run a Bing search based on the query typed there.

However, the default search engine for the address bar can be changed to another provider that supports OpenSearch:

    1. In Edge, select Settings and more (…) > Settings.
    2. Select Privacy, search, and services.
    3. Select Search and connected experiences (or Search and connected services depending on version), then choose Address bar and search.
    4. Use the Search engine used in the address bar dropdown to select a different search engine.

For managed environments, admins can control how new-tab searches behave using the NewTabPageSearchBox policy. This policy lets admins choose whether the new-tab search box uses the dedicated search box or redirects to the address bar, but it still requires a configured non-Bing default search provider and does not remove Bing from Edge.

Bing cannot be deleted from Edge’s search engines; it remains built-in as part of the browser design.
