Unable to Receive Epic Games Verification Codes

I am unable to receive verification/security codes from Epic Games on my Outlook email address. My Epic Games account is still linked to this email, and I remember all my account details correctly, including my display name and other account information.

I have already waited more than 24 hours, but the verification codes are still not arriving in my inbox, spam folder, or junk folder.

Could you please help me regain access to my account or provide an alternative verification method?

Thank you for your assistance.

I get email notification but it takes a long long time. When I get my code the session has timed out on my browser to actually use the code.

This isn't an issue with GMAIL, I get my codes right away with my other epic account. This is something definitely on Microsoft side. I have tried the gmail account consistently getting the verification codes right away.

    Hello saafsf afasfa

From what you describe, I understand you’re not receiving Epic Games verification codes in your Outlook.com inbox even after waiting for a long time.

Have you already tried the Q&A Assist suggestions? Just to clarify, could you let me know:

    • Are you able to receive emails from other websites/services (not Epic)?
    • Do you receive Microsoft verification codes normally on this email?
    • When you search “All folders” for “Epic”, do you see any past emails from them?

In the meantime, please try these additional checks:

1, Check and add safe sender

Sometimes messages are silently filtered before reaching Inbox/Junk.

    • Sign in to Outlook Web: https://outlook.live.com
    • Click “Settings” (gear icon) > “Mail” > “Junk email”
    • Under “Filters”, if "Trust email from my contacts” is enabled > disable it temporarily or add Epic’s domain (e.g., @epicgames.com) to “Safe senders”

2, Check if your mailbox is receiving all other external emails

This helps isolate whether the issue is inbox-specific or sender-specific.

    • Ask a friend or another service (e.g., Gmail) to send you a test email
    • If that email does not arrive either, the issue is likely with your Outlook mailbox configuration
    • If it arrives normally, the issue is more likely with Epic’s delivery to your mailbox

3, Try requesting the code from a different environment

    • Use a private/incognito browser window
    • Switch to a different network (e.g., mobile data instead of Wi-Fi)
    • Request the code again only once, then wait a few minutes

Repeated requests in a short time can sometimes delay delivery.

Please feel free to share any updates at your convenience. Thank you for your time and understanding.

Epic’s verification messages are treated like any other external email, so the focus is on making sure Outlook.com can receive them and that the account is not blocked or misconfigured.

    1. Check where the code email could be going
    • Confirm the Epic account is using the exact Outlook address being checked (no typos, no old alias).
    • In Outlook.com, check:
      • Junk Email folder
      • Other/Focused tabs
      • Any custom folders or rules that might move or delete messages.
    • Search for the sender or subject Epic uses (e.g., “Epic Games”, “security code”) across All folders.
    1. Make sure Outlook.com is not blocking Epic
    • In Outlook.com settings, review:
      • Blocked senders and domains – remove any Epic-related addresses or domains if present.
      • Safe senders and domains – add Epic’s sender domain if known.
    • If a previous Epic code email was ever marked as junk, open it (if found) and mark it as Not junk so future messages are delivered to Inbox.
    1. Check for Microsoft-side verification or security issues If Outlook.com itself is asking for verification codes or showing security prompts, that can interfere with normal sign-in and mail use.
    • If not receiving Microsoft verification codes either, follow the guidance under “I'm not getting my Microsoft account verification code”:
      • Verify that the Outlook address is correctly set as security info and that there is at least one working verification method.
      • Sign in to the Security basics page and select Update info to confirm or replace security info if needed.
      • Avoid excessive or repetitive requests for codes, as this can cause temporary blocks on sending codes.
      • If using another Microsoft email as backup, use a private/incognito window so both accounts can stay signed in while retrieving codes.
    • If security info has been lost or is outdated, use “I've lost access to my Microsoft account security info” steps to add a new verification method or replace old ones. Be aware that replacing all security info can put the account into a 30‑day restricted state.
    1. Check for temporary blocks or traffic issues Microsoft may temporarily block or delay some messages or codes if:
    • There is unusual activity or a high volume of requests.
    • There is heavy compromised traffic from the current region. These issues usually resolve automatically after some time. Avoid repeatedly triggering new code requests from Epic in rapid succession.
    1. Test Outlook.com with another external sender
    • Ask another service or a contact to send a test email to the same Outlook address.
    • If other external emails arrive normally, the issue is likely on Epic’s side (sending or rate-limiting), not Outlook.
    1. If codes from Epic still do not arrive
    • Since Outlook.com cannot control how or when Epic sends codes, contact Epic Games Support and explain that the Outlook mailbox is working but their codes are not arriving.
    • If Epic offers alternate verification (e.g., backup email, device-based verification, or support-assisted recovery), use that to regain access.
    1. If Outlook.com itself has sign-in or verification problems
    • Use Microsoft’s sign-in helper to diagnose sign-in or security issues.
    • If still blocked from receiving Microsoft codes or accessing security settings, follow the account recovery guidance and, if needed, contact Microsoft Support via the official Contact Support channel for further assistance with the Outlook.com account itself (note that support cannot send codes or change account details for security reasons).
