To change the screen resolution in Windows 7 (which affects how large items appear, including documents), use Display settings. Note that resolution is set in pixels like 800×600, 1280×720, etc., not “500 to 100 pixels.” To make things larger, choose a lower resolution; to make them smaller/sharper, choose a higher resolution.
To change screen resolution in Windows 7:
- Click Start.
- Type Display in the Search box, then click Display.
- Click Change display settings.
- Next to Resolution, open the drop-down list.
- Move the slider to the resolution wanted (the one marked (recommended) is usually best).
- Click Apply.
- Click Keep Changes to accept, or Revert to go back.
If fonts or items in documents look blurry at low resolution, set the monitor to its native (recommended) resolution for best clarity.
