When I try to open a Microsoft Form it asks for my email address to log in, but my work email address is not recognised.

I run a small company. I have a Microsoft Entra Login which uses my work email address as the administrator login. I log in, and I see the 2 users - myself (with same email address) and one other (with email address at the same domain). Each user has a 365 licence. With my same email address I am logged in to the Office Apps no problem. A consultant has created a survey using Office Forms. It is set such that anyone with the link can open it. When I click the link to open it, it asks me to log in. I try to log in using my work email address I get the error message "We couldn't find your Microsoft account. Try entering your details again or create an account" If I click 'Create and account' I get the message "You can't sign up with a work or school email". (If I log in using my private email address it works fine, but I do not want to use my private email address for work).

Any suggestions - I am going round in circles...

Hi Rachel

After doing some further testing, can you please confirm your Form link:

The main difference between this is the first link is to fill out the form, while the second link is to edit the form.

    Hi Rachel

May I ask if this consultant is in your organization or another organization?

When you are prompt for login, can you pay the attention to the URL, does it show login.microsoftonline.com or login.live.com?

I am trying to reproduce your case and here is what I noticed:

You mentioned anyone can open the form. Can you confirm the consultant choose the Anyone can respond option? If yes, you shouldn't be prompt for log in. Please double check with them.

If I choose the option number 2, I am prompt to login, the URL is login.microsoftonline.com. In this page, I cannot use my personal email, it will require business email to log in.

Additionally, have you tried access the link via incognito web? Does it ask you to sign in? With incognito web, it will avoid account confusion.

Please try and let me know. I look forward for your reply.
