Unable to access One Drive - 503 SERVICE UNAVAILABLE

Hi, I've had an error on my One Drive account since 10/05/2026 and i can't see any update on this being resolved by MS?

A 503 SERVICE UNAVAILABLE error in Microsoft OneDrive

usually means the service is temporarily unavailable, overloaded, or blocked by a network/browser issue.

Try these steps in order:

Refresh the page

Press Ctrl + F5 for a hard refresh.

Check Microsoft service status

Visit: Microsoft 365 Service Health

Try another browser / Incognito mode

Sometimes extensions or cached cookies cause the issue.

Clear browser cache and cookies

Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data

Disable VPN / Proxy temporarily

Corporate VPNs or proxies can trigger 503 errors.

Sign out and sign back in

Logout from Microsoft account

Restart browser

Login again

Try direct OneDrive URL

OneDrive Web

Check internet / DNS

Open Command Prompt and run:

ipconfig /flushdns

If using organization/school account

Your tenant admin may have:

blocked access,

ongoing maintenance,

conditional access policies.

If the OneDrive desktop app fails

Reset it:

%localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

Then reopen OneDrive.

I tired many and I found working incognito did work and also Command Prompt but only for one of my personal accounts, not them all oddly, and only for web OneDrive and not the desktop app. I’m told by my company IT admin, as I asked them to do the network/VPN settings refresh (I did also try clearing browser cache) that OneDrive is not working because my laptop needs upgrading. Not sure why this would be but I’ve ordered a new laptop so when they do config hopefully that will work. What I do know is the issue is laptop related, potentially network, and not OneDrive itself as I’m able to access all my account OneDrives from my mobile app.

For now I can access this accounts OneDrive thanks to your support!

That error (503 Service Unavailable) is being widely reported on OneDrive by many people, it seems to be a server side issue Microsoft needs to fix on their side, check the link below to see if there is any outage reported in your local area and if so, if Microsoft has any update on when this may be resolved.

Thank you DaveM121 for the update... frustrating as i can't get into any of my personal OneDrives. I will also let me Business Admin know. Lets hope MS resolve this quickly as it's been like this for me since 10/05/26

I still have this issue. The main problem starts when I try to use multiple logins (of my own) If I open anonymous browsing and sign with just one login, it works, if I use different browser use different login it works, but if I login with another account (anonymous, different browser - all of them) I got 503 service unavailable or even just white screen (on opera)
