A follow up thread to three other threads about this issue. The "pin to right hand pane" for Downloads in Edge has once again disappeared in 148.0.3967.54. To be 100% clear this is NOT about pinning Downloads to the toolbar, it is about p

#inning it to the right hand pane as per the following screenshot from when it was fixed in 147.0.3912.98:

Edge 147.0.3912.98 As soon as Edge was updated to 148.0.3967.54 the problem came back, see the following screenshot:Edge 148.0.3967.54

This has been an ongoing issue since January, getting partially fixed in February, regressing again in March but with a workaround that worked, fixed in April and now broken again in May!

Now broken on all my PCs (5 of them) running Windows 11 25H2 latest build (2 on Release Preview, 2 non-Insider) and Windows Server 2025. Also tested on completely fresh install of Windows 11 on a VM and tested on multiple user accounts, sync'd and not sync'd to user - and all have the same issue! Previously the issue was specific to some machines, now even worse!

I had reported this through Edge feedback as well as speaking (again) with Microsoft support who said this week's patch Tuesday updates would fix it, which they didn't (and frankly I didn't expect them to, given it's an Edge issue). I am trying to escalate this and get the message through to the Edge team that this needs to be (a) fixed in the current release and (b) properly regression tested in all future releases.

I have just checked current beta and dev channels for Edge and the problem is in ALL OF THEM !!!

Given the Windows "focus on fixes, performance and quality" promised, this ongoing and reoccurring issue with Edge really is not a great indicator of how that will go in the future.

What channels are there to actually get this to the correct people in Microsoft so that the bug can be killed off once and for all?

I spoke to the support team on Friday and they said this has been disabled permanently, something to do with streamlining. I'm gutted. Most of my day is spent downloading pdf docs for work which I then open all in one go to from the download pane on the right... and it opens them all in new tabs. Easy. Instead. I now have three extra clicks per download to open them. So ridiculous. As if my day job isn't miserable enough without constant inconveniences such as this. Please put it back!!

    Hi,
You have already used the correct channel to get the information to the correct people, - the Feedback option within Edge.
I would suggest that you continue to do that.

Although not a guarantee, If you would like an update from the engineering team be sure to leave your email address in the relevant box, it may be some time before they have any information for you.

Edge Updates are not tied to patch Tuesday and could be released at any time, however you have checked the insider builds and if it is not yet fixed in either of them, it is unlikely to be fixed in the next update of the release version.

Some issues, especially those that keep recurring, can be difficult to fix and may take more time, keep an eye on the release notes and insider builds if you continue to run them, that may give you some indication of when or if the issue will be fixed.

I am sorry I cannot suggest a button to press or a setting to change it.
