I have a Galaxy Book S with 64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor. I continue to have this error with my windows update: Windows 11, version 25H2 Install error - 0xc1900101. Please advise.

Hello,

You can try manual upgrade using Windows 11 25H2 ISO file.

Follow these steps:

Download Windows 11 25H2 ISO from the official Microsoft website.

Double click on it to mount it to a DVD drive.

Then go to DVD drive, double click on setup.exe to proceed.

Follow on-screen instructions to complete upgrade. Alternatively, if you're on Version 24H2, you can install Version 25H2 via enablement package:

You can try a manual upgrade using the Windows 11 25H2 ISO file.

Make sure you disconnect all of your external hard drives and other connected devices during the upgrade.

Go to the Windows 11 official Microsoft website here and download the 25H2 ISO file (``Win11_25H2_English_Arm64_v2.iso)-

Download the Windows 11 ISO for Arm64 devices.
Once the ISO file is downloaded, mount it and double-click Setup.exe to begin the installation.
Follow on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.

The solution I suggested is a manual method where you will download the ISO file for your ARM-based processor from the Microsoft website and run the ISO file directly on your device. This should update your device to the latest version of Windows 11.

For at least 8 hours. Went to bed last night at 46% woke up to it still at 46%.

I checked with Samsung and installed their new app needed to install any new updates for my device and it stated my device was up to date no new updates were available. I followed all of the steps the Windows AI generated content gave me prior to your guidance. I am wondering if Samsung has not rolled out the proper updates for older model products like mine even though it is only 6 years old. I may have to look into a new laptop device if I am not able to continue updating with windows :(

Error 0xC1900101 during installation of Windows 11, version 25H2 is a driver-related upgrade error. Use the following steps in order, checking Windows Update again after each major step:

Ensure enough free disk space
- For a 64-bit OS, at least 20 GB of free space is required on the system drive.
- If needed, remove unnecessary files or apps. See the guidance in Free up drive space in Windows.
Run Windows Update multiple times
- Go to Settings > Windows Update and select Check for updates.
- Install all available updates (including drivers and firmware), restart if required, and repeat until no further updates are offered.
- If Windows Update itself shows errors, run the Windows Update Troubleshooter for Windows 11.
Update third‑party and OEM drivers
- Visit the Samsung support site for Galaxy Book S and install the latest drivers, firmware, and utilities for Windows 11 on ARM.
- Also update any drivers for external devices (docks, USB devices, etc.) from their manufacturers.
Disconnect nonessential hardware
- Unplug all external storage, docks, hubs, printers, and other peripherals that are not required for basic operation.
