How do I permanently get rid of these unwanted Ads? I'm already paying for my subscription, I don't need upsells, please.

Those in-product “Upgrade your plan” prompts cannot be turned off individually. They are part of the subscription and account-notice experience in Microsoft 365 apps and are shown when Microsoft 365 detects that another plan or feature level is available for the signed-in account.

The only similar notification that can be permanently disabled via a documented method is the older Office 2013/2016 “Get the new Office/upgrade to Office 2016” prompt, which can be turned off by running the Easy Fix that sets a registry key:

    1. Make sure Office 2013 is fully updated (see “Install Office updates” in the referenced article).
    2. Download and run the Easy Fix tool from the article. This sets the registry key that disables the “Get the New Office” upgrade prompt.

For Microsoft 365 subscription changes (for example, when a plan is switched and Office shows an Account Notice or Update required banner), the only supported way to remove those notices is to apply the subscription change by updating Office:

    1. When the Account Notice dialog appears, select Update and sign in if prompted.
    2. Let Office download and apply the updates; the old version is removed as part of the process.

There is no supported setting in the provided documentation to hide or permanently disable general upsell banners in current Microsoft 365 apps beyond applying the correct subscription version or, for the legacy Office 2013/2016 upgrade prompt, using the Easy Fix.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Could you please check if the banner disappears after signing in again with your Microsoft account?

To do this, go to File > Account > Sign out. (Sign out of all accounts)

Then sign in with the Microsoft account that is associated with your Microsoft 365 subscription.

If you are still having issues, open Credential Manager in the Control Panel.

    Select Windows Credentials.

    Remove the Microsoft Office credentials.

Finally, sign out and sign back in with your account in the Office apps.

Let me know how it goes.
