Using the New Outlook for Mac features in business environments
In new Outlook for Mac, capitalization of the first letter of sentences is controlled by the Editor autocorrect/auto-capitalization settings.
To turn automatic capitalization back on in new Outlook for Mac:
- Start composing a new email (or reply/forward an existing one).
- On the ribbon, select Editor.
- Select Editor Settings.
- Use the toggle to turn Auto capitalization (or Autocorrect/Auto capitalization) On.
If using classic Outlook for Mac with Word-style editor options:
- In Outlook, go to File > Options > Mail.
- Select Editor Options.
- Go to Proofing > Autocorrect Options.
- On the Autocorrect tab, ensure options such as Capitalize first letter of sentences are enabled.
These settings restore automatic capitalization of the first letter of sentences while composing mail.
