Using Outlook for Android in business environments for email and scheduling
Blank or crashing Outlook screens on Android 15 are consistent with known Outlook Mobile issues related to Android WebView and device power/optimization settings.
Use these steps on each affected Android device (phone and Samsung Tab):
- Update Android System WebView and Chrome
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Search for Android System WebView.
- Tap Update (if available).
- Search for Google Chrome.
- Tap Update (if available).
- Fully close Outlook (swipe it away from Recents) and reopen it.
- Check power-saving / app optimization settings
Some Android models block background components needed by Outlook and related Microsoft apps, which can cause intermittent blank screens or failures to load. On each device:
- Turn off any aggressive power-saving mode while testing.
- In system settings, locate Battery or App power management.
- Find Outlook, Authenticator, and Company Portal (if used for work account) and:
- Disable battery/power optimization for these apps.
- Allow them to run in the background.
- If using a Huawei-like configuration, ensure the Microsoft apps are allowed to auto-launch / secondary launch (per vendor UI).
- Reinstall Outlook only after the above
Since reinstalling temporarily helped, repeat it once more after updating WebView/Chrome and adjusting power settings:
- Uninstall Outlook from the device.
- Restart the device.
- Reinstall Outlook from the Google Play Store.
- Sign in again and test.
If the issue persists across multiple devices after these steps, contact the Microsoft 365 admin or technical support for the work account to check for any organization policies or known incidents affecting Outlook for Android.
