Dear @Joo Ang Concept Squared Events,

Let me sum up the issue:

It appears you are currently signed in to Microsoft Teams using a personal account. With a personal account, the Teams Calendar does not support scheduling meetings in the way you are attempting.

To schedule meetings through the Teams Calendar, please sign in with your organization’s business account (for example, an account in the @<companyname>.onmicrosoft.com domain). Once you are signed in with the correct work account, you should be able to create and schedule meetings normally.

Follow these steps to troubleshoot the Teams Calendar error when trying to schedule a meeting with a Microsoft Teams Essentials license.

    1. Verify the Teams Calendar app is enabled for the account
      1. In the Microsoft Teams admin center, go to Users → Manage users and open the affected user.
      2. Select View policies and check the App setup policy assigned to the user.
      3. Open that policy and confirm the Calendar app (ID ef56c0de-36fc-4ef8-b417-3d82ba9d073c) is listed.
      4. If the Calendar app is missing, add/restore it in the app setup policy so it appears in the Teams client. For details, see Manage app setup policies in Microsoft Teams from the referenced article.
    2. Confirm Teams upgrade coexistence mode allows Teams meetings
      1. In the Teams admin center, go to Users → Manage users and open the affected user.
      2. Under the Account tab, check Coexistence mode.
      3. Ensure it is not set to Skype for Business only or Skype for Business with Teams collaboration.
      4. If it is set to Use Org-wide settings, then go to Org-wide settings → Teams upgrade and make sure the tenant-wide Coexistence mode is also not set to those two Skype-only modes.
    3. Check that Teams is allowed to access Exchange Web Services (EWS) at the organization level Run the following in Exchange Online PowerShell to inspect the org-wide EWS configuration:
         Get-OrganizationConfig | Select-Object Ews*

      • If EwsApplicationAccessPolicy is EnforceAllowList, only clients in EwsAllowList can use EWS.
      • Ensure the following entries exist in EwsAllowList:
        • MicrosoftNinja/*
        • *Teams/*
        • SkypeSpaces/*
      • If they are missing, add them:
             Set-OrganizationConfig -EwsApplicationAccessPolicy EnforceAllowList -EwsAllowList @{Add="MicrosoftNinja/*","*Teams/*","SkypeSpaces/*"}

      • If EwsEnabled is False, set it to True or Null so Teams can access EWS.
    4. Check that Teams is allowed to access EWS for the specific user Run in Exchange Online PowerShell:
         Get-CASMailbox <UserPrincipalName> | Select-Object Ews*

      • If EwsApplicationAccessPolicy is EnforceAllowList, verify the user’s EwsAllowList includes:
        • MicrosoftNinja/*
        • *Teams/*
        • SkypeSpaces/*
      • If not, add them:
             Set-CASMailbox <UserPrincipalName> -EwsApplicationAccessPolicy EnforceAllowList -EwsAllowList @{Add="MicrosoftNinja/*","*Teams/*","SkypeSpaces/*"}

      • If EwsEnabled is False, set it to True so Teams can reach the mailbox.
    5. Re-test the Teams Calendar app
      • After making the above changes, sign out of Teams, close the client completely, then sign back in.
      • Open Calendar in Teams and try creating a new meeting again.

If the error persists after these steps, use the same troubleshooting article’s guidance to run the Teams Calendar App connectivity test and continue from there.

Dear @Joo Ang Concept Squared Events,

To ensure I understand your request correctly and to support you as effectively as possible, I need more specific information from you:

    • Could you please provide a screenshot of your issue?
    • Could you please let me know if you have any other subscriptions that you use together with Microsoft Teams Essentials?

Teams Essentials is often purchased without Exchange Online mailboxes. If you do not have an Exchange mailbox license, Teams Calendar will not be able to load, which makes the above issue. Since Teams calendar depends on an Exchange mailbox, kindly try to open your mailbox calendar somewhere else (for example Outlook). If you cannot access an Exchange calendar at all, Teams calendar in Teams will not work (it has nothing to connect to).

Please check if you have an Exchange online license via M365 admin center:

Go to Microsoft 365 admin center > Users > Active users > choose your account > Licenses and apps > Apps

Confirm if Exchange Online license is checked.

Please contact your IT Admin to check if you are an end-user. How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

If you have an Exchange Online license, kindly try these steps:

1> Fully quit Teams and reopen

Quitting Teams from the taskbar and restarting your device.

    Then sign in Teams again.

    2> Clear Teams cache

Please refer to this article to clear Teams cache: Clear the Teams client cache - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn

    3> Use the Web Version

Open your web browser, go to Microsoft Teams, sign in, and access your calendar from there.

    4> Reinstall Teams

If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling Teams.

I hope the information shared helps point you in the right direction. Please try the steps above and let me know if they work. If not, we can continue working together to narrow this down.

The first response may not always resolve the issue right away, but with your help and more details, we can work toward a solution.

As a moderator, I do not have the tools to investigate your specific account directly because this is a user-to-user support forum. Our role is limited to providing technical support on reported issues, requests, or ideas. However, I will try my best to support as clearly as possible.
