When exporting QIF Data from Money it creates a date format of dd/mm'yyyy for transactions dated 2000 onwards which I am unable to use to import to other programs. Strangely data dated from 1997 to 1999 creates a date format of dd/mm/yyyy. How can I get all transactions to export to a useable format ie. dd/mm/yyyy.

    Hi john mclaughlin,

I know it’s frustrating when long‑term financial data won’t export properly, making newer transactions become unusable. Unfortunately, I need to note that Microsoft Money is a discontinued product, meaning it no longer receives updates or fixes. There is no settings to control or normalize QIF date formats. So your only option is to try workaround:

    1. Export the QIF file as usual
    2. Open it in a text editor (Notepad, Notepad++, etc.)
    3. Use Find and Replace to remove the apostrophe (') from dates > Save the file.

Because Microsoft Money is no longer supported, this behavior cannot be fixed within the program itself. The only way to obtain a usable date format for all transactions is to manually clean the exported QIF file before importing.
