Where are the accept/tentative/decline buttons in new outlook and web outlook

There are not accept tentative decline button in my email invites. They only way see those buttons is if I actually go into the calendar and open the invites.

This is not optimal at all and a huge waste of my time as I manage 10 plus executive calendars. I adopt the new outlook because Classic could not handle the amount of delegate calendars I manage.

When you make changes do you not get user input??????????????????

I have the exact same issue. I am delegate to multiple directors and if I send a meeting invite from one of them, inviting the others, there is no option to accept or decline from the invite. This is really slowing my work down.

I will assume you are using the New Outlook for Windows App. If not, see below.

There appears to have been a bug introduced by Microsoft that disables RSVP buttons on meeting invites received by a delegate. But it has been fixed by Microsoft in the most recent release.

when testing again in the new Outlook desktop app with Microsoft Outlook version 1.2026.310.300 on Targeted Release in the Current Channel, I no longer see these buttons. They are still visible in Outlook on the web. This change suggests that the behavior may be related to a specific build or release channel of the new Outlook.

Hello !

Are you managing Outlook / Exchange accounts or is it another email provider ?
In a recent Outlook update, the handling of calendar invitations has been changed. The new Outlook no longer considers calendar invites for non-Microsoft email accounts.It is a known regression of the new Outlook and has already been reported in Microsoft's feedback hub. At the moment, you'll need to use the classic version of Outlook (or the mail client of your provider) to see these RSVP buttons.

It is a global company with Outlook/exchange (not any other email provider) and contracts with Microsoft.

I just told one of my reports not to change from classic but alas she is got a number of delegates and her time in OUTLOOK Classic is weighted and slow.

From an efficiency standpoint - opening up individual calendars then meeting invites is not a good idea. If you are an individual contributor and have one calendar sure - but for the plethora of us who manage multiple people's calendar and especially at the exec level this change has bogged us down and it utterly ridiculous. Make it optional not to have them. Not take them away completely.

I can't even tell you how disappointed and frustrating this is.

Unfortunately, I do not have any view on Outlook's evolutions.
However, if you'd like, you can still leave a feedback to Microsoft by using the "Feedback" button on the "Help" tab of the Ribbon.

As a workaround, have you tried Outlook's split view ? This way, you can see multiple calendars in one screen. You'll just need to horizontally scroll if you have a lot of them. If you see an invite on one of them, right-click on the invite and select the desired option.

Thank you yes - I use split view but this issue remains in the email invite where 70% of my activity is. I will inundate MS with my viewpoint in the feedback. Thank you for your input.

In new Outlook and Outlook on the web, meeting responses are handled directly on the invitation, but behavior differs from classic Outlook.

For classic Outlook on Windows:

When a meeting is declined, it is not saved to the calendar and the request moves to Deleted Items.
There is no option to show declined meetings on the calendar; only accepted or tentative meetings appear.
To change a declined response, the original request must be opened from Deleted Items and then Accept or Tentative selected.

For new Outlook and Outlook on the web:

Declined events can be shown or hidden on the calendar using a filter.
In Calendar, on the View tab, select Filter > Hide declined events to hide them.
To see declined events again, on the View tab select Hide declined events and uncheck Hide declined events.

When working as a delegate in Outlook on the web (classic experience):

Meeting requests for the person whose calendar is managed arrive in the delegate’s Inbox.
The delegate responds from the invitation using Accept, Tentative, or Decline.
If accepted, the meeting shows as busy on the owner’s calendar, and the organizer sees the response as coming from the delegate on the owner’s behalf.

If invitations are only showing response options after opening them from the calendar, check that the messages are true meeting requests and not updates or informational messages, and ensure they are opened in the full message window, not only in a preview that may hide some actions.
