Hi Fluffy Man,
I understand how frustrating it can be when you’re trying to sign in to Microsoft Edge and keep seeing a “Something went wrong” message.
The error code shown (0x8007052e) usually indicates that Edge is having trouble authenticating your account using information stored on the device. This may sometimes happen if cached data or saved credentials become outdated or corrupted, even when the account credentials themselves are correct.
As a first step, please try clearing Edge’s cached data. In Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + Delete, choose Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, set the time range to All time, then clear the data. Close Edge completely and reopen it before trying to sign in again.
If the issue continues, the next recommended step is to clear saved credentials in Windows. This won’t remove your Microsoft account, delete files, or affect your dat. It simply removes locally stored sign‑in information so Windows and Edge can request fresh credentials. You may be asked to sign in again to Microsoft services the next time you open them, which is expected. To do this, open Control Panel > Credential Manager, select Windows Credentials and remove any entries related to Microsoft, Edge, or your email address. After restarting the device, open Edge and attempt to sign in again.
If you’re still unable to sign in, creating a new Edge profile can help determine whether the issue is specific to the existing browser profile. This won’t affect your Microsoft account and is a safe way to test whether profile data is involved.
Please let me know how it goes after trying these steps. If the problem persists, I’ll be happy to continue helping you look into additional options.
