My Day in Planner and My Day Todo doesn't sync properly

I have used Microsoft Todo desktop app to catch all things to do from outlook tasks, outlook e-mails (set to a due date), planner tasks (which now also cover projects...) and loop tasks (through planner).

Since this week I noticed a discrepancy between the Todo app's My Day and the Planner My Day: Due date updates are not synchronised. It seems to be that the Todo app (desktop, web or outlook) has the same issue: they don't get the updates from planner or push the updates to planner.

It is only the planner version of My Day that is up to date so I use that instead of the Todo app.

I have confirmed that the problem is with all versions of the todo app (desktop, web or outlook).

If someone knows how to fix this, then please provide instructions. I have off course already googled it and found no useful instructions.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for the additional details, and I truly appreciate you sharing that multiple colleagues are experiencing the same issue. Based on your feedback and the fact that this behavior is occurring across different users, devices, browsers, and the To Do web version, it strongly suggests that this may be a widespread service side issue.

At this time, there hasn’t been any official announcement, service advisory, or confirmed fix published by Microsoft regarding this issue. As forum moderators, we do not have access to internal service logs, backend diagnostics, or engineering dashboards due to privacy and security restrictions.

Because of this, issues that involve potential backend or service problems can only be fully investigated and fixed by the Microsoft product engineering team. The only channel that connects directly to the engineering and service teams is the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.

I strongly recommend reaching out to your Microsoft 365 administrator and asking them to report this issue through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, as this helps Microsoft track service-related problems more efficiently.

Steps for the Microsoft 365 Admin:

    1. Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center
    2. Navigate to Health
    3. Select Service health
    4. Click Report an issue

Submitting the issue here helps Microsoft investigate and, if needed, open a new service incident for broader visibility.

Thank you again for your patience and cooperation while this is looked into.

    Hi @Jakob Fredriksson,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Regarding that Planner’s My Day is updating correctly, but Microsoft To Do (desktop, web, and Outlook integration) is not synchronizing due date changes from Planner or pushing updates back to Planner. I’d like to gather a few more details so we can narrow down the root cause.

    • Does this happen to other user in your organization as well?
    • Have there been any recent changes to your task setup, such as moving tasks between plans, converting tasks, or using Loop tasks more frequently?
    • Are you signed in to To Do with only one work account, or do you have multiple accounts connected?
    • At the moment, there is no official Microsoft announcement or service advisory indicating a known issue with Planner, To Do due date synchronization.

To validate this on my side, I performed a test by updating due dates in Planner, and the due date synchronized correctly to To Do in my environment

I created a task with a due date of 16/02/2026. Both To Do and Planner showed the same dateUser's image

I then updated the due date in the To Do app to 20/06/2026, and the change appeared immediately in Planner as well.User's image

In the meantime, please verify that this setting is enabled in To Do:

Settings → Connected apps → Planner (Ensure the toggle is turned on.)User's image

Or you could try to reset repair the To Do desktop app:

1/Right-click the Windows Start button and go to Installed apps.

2/Locate Microsoft To Do in the list.  User's image

3/Click the three dots next to it and select Advanced options.

4/From there, choose Repair to fix the app.

Thank you again for your time and understanding. While my initial response may not resolve the issue immediately, I’d like to gather more details about your situation so I can assist you more effectively.

I really appreciate your patience, and I’m here to help. Looking forward to your response.
