Using Classic Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi Janice Young,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.
Outlook may resend old emails if it thinks they did not finish sending correctly. This can usually be fixed with a few simple steps.
1. Pause email sending
Open Outlook
Click the Send/Receive tab
Click Work Offline
This stops Outlook from sending emails while we fix the issue.
2. Check the Outbox
Click the Outbox folder
If you see any emails there, delete them or move them to another folder
3. Temporarily turn off Add-ins
Click File > Manage Add-ins
Uncheck all boxes and click OK
Close and reopen Outlook
4. Fix Outlook’s email file
Close Outlook
Open the Inbox Repair Tool (SCANPST.EXE) and run the repair
This helps fix problems that cause old emails to resend.
When finished, open Outlook again and click Send/Receive > Work Offline to turn it back off.
Please let me know if this proves useful you, or if you would like further assistance.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.
