how to get rid of threatdefender.info pop up

How do I get rid of norton ad that continually pops up. Tried everything listed on Google and ran the Norton removal tool but the same page keeps appearing. Beginning to believe ha the solution is to switch to Chrome

I have the same issue. AdwCleaner and Malwarebytes report the system clean.

Its hiding in your Service Workers;

Assuming your on chrome go to: "chrome://serviceworker-internals/", search "threatdefender.info", and you'll see it pop

Assuming your on edge go to: "edge://serviceworker-internals/", search "threatdefender.info", and you'll see it pop

If your not using one of those web browsers maybe your using like firefox or safari just lookup how to find the service workers running and itll be in there, once u remove it itll stop popping up -

Was told by MS support to disable start up boost and continue running background extensions and apps when Edge is closed. This seems to have corrected problem but I'm gong to wait a couple of days to confirm it worked

Hi,

It's probably adware.

Download AdwCleaner, it's free, run a scan and it will remove the ad.

If possible, take a screenshot and post it here.

Hi,

If that didn't solve it, check your browser settings (if you're using Chrome or Edge) in ... > settings > site permissions, find the website in question, and delete and remove it.
