Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on macOS
Same here.
This is the main process, not an extension. This should never go to 100%.
It happens every time after a few days. Restarting fixes that for that day or maybe next too.
Edge Version 144.0.3719.92 (Official build) (arm64)
Supplement to WCR's solution:
Previous versions path:
~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/EdgeUpdater/apps/msedge-stable/
or
/Users/{your_user_name}/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/EdgeUpdater/apps/msedge-stable/
Make sure your_user_name is replaced with your actual user name :D
Detailed steps:
/Applications/, then rename it to Microsoft Edge_143.app. (The newly updated 144.0.3719.92 also has the same problem.)Microsoft Edge.app.Microsoft Edge_143.app.EdgeUpdater is not allowed to access the network to prevent automatic updates. (Path: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/EdgeUpdater/145.0.3785.0/EdgeUpdater.app/Contents/MacOS/EdgeUpdater on macOS 15.7 Apple Silicon)

Same problem here, but I have discovered that turning "Use graphics acceleration when available" off solved the issue, at least for now.
An educated guess - there may be some issue with the GPU process (WindowServer).
Version 144.0.3719.92 (Official build) (arm64) of Edge has been released and so far, it seems to resolve the issue. Hoping it sticks.
just wanted to add that you can restart your browser (restoring your tabs) with edge://restart.
