why am I unable to send a document direct out of Word via an email

I am having difficulty sending document directly out of Word through outlook email. Is there a solution or setting to fix this?

Which specific option did you select in Word?

Also, which version of Outlook do you have?

Generally, options to send from within Word will work better with the classic Outlook for Windows (because classic Outlook is MAPI-compliant).

I was using New Outlook application and then tested the Classic Version and it resolved. I'm amazed that the new Outlook can't accomplish this function.

I was using New Outlook application and then tested the Classic Version and it resolved. I'm amazed that the new Outlook can't accomplish this function.

Thanks for the follow-up. The new Outlook is still a work in progress, and it has many flaws compared to the classic Outlook. The good news (sort of) is that the classic Outlook will be supported until 2029, at least.

I have two other e mails and wish to keep them..

I do not use out look............... but have opened it now so I now have three

but I am still not able to send the word document to Outlook???

Using whatever e-mail service you prefer, compose your e-mail and attach the document via the command for attachments. That should always work. For example, instructions for Gmail can be found in Google help at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6584?hl=en.
