I have Windows 11. I have lost Bluetooth on several occasions. Can't remember how it was restored so was wondering if I could get answers on that. Also, is there a way to prevent from losing in the future?

Thank you

Hi Mike Miller

When Bluetooth disappears, the first step is to run the built‑in Bluetooth troubleshooter under Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. This often detects and resolves common problems automatically. Another effective approach is to restart the Bluetooth Support Service by opening services.msc and ensuring it is set to “Automatic.”

If Bluetooth is missing from Device Manager, you can click Action > Scan for hardware changes to reload the adapter. Updating or reinstalling the Bluetooth driver from your PC manufacturer’s support page is also recommended, as outdated drivers are a frequent cause of instability.

To prevent future issues, I suggest disabling Windows’ power management option that allows the system to turn off the Bluetooth adapter to save energy. You can find this under Device Manager > Bluetooth adapter > Properties > Power Management. Additionally, keeping your system and drivers up to date, avoiding prolonged use of Battery Saver mode, and restarting your PC periodically can all help maintain stable Bluetooth performance.

If you follow these steps, you should be able to restore Bluetooth whenever it disappears and reduce the chances of losing it again. Should this guidance resolve your concern, I appreciate it if you could click “Accept Answer” it helps others in the community who may face the same issue.

Please feel free to let me know if you need any assistance. I’m here to support you.
