After a forced upgrade to Windows 11 25H2 on 2 computers, when playing music CD's all of the artist and track information is missing in both Media Player and Windows Media Player legacy (my preferred player). Both media players' settings are good. The Media Player troubleshooter found no errors. SFC found corrupted files on both computers that required DISM to repair the files, but this did not fix the problem with both media players. How do I fix this problem?Screenshot_2025-12-16_233613

Thank you,

Yes, this is quite annoying. One solution, which shouldn't really be necessary, is to get album information from Discogs via Mp3tag. When using wmp to rip a cd, I usually get most of the tag information with the exception of the album cover image. The album cover images appear as empty files, which I delete. I bring the album folder under Mp3tag and use the Discogs option to get all the album tag info, including the cover art, which I extract into the album folder. There are some variations using this procedure depending on the album, but they're not insurmountable. It's possible there's a simpler procedure using these components, but what I've just described works for me.

I highly recommend Mp3tag for situations like this.
