OK, this is TRULY pissing me off to no end, as I am at my wits end with bloody scammers & junk post emailers that are targeting me on a DAILY basis now.

I am now getting about 250 junk emails per day which includes obvious phishing emails too.

However, what it is TRULY pissing me off is that MICROSOFT DEVELOPERS and now doubt management have left a MASSIVE gaping hole in protecting end users / customers of Microsoft's Onedrive, as I am now getting several shared files per day of PDF porn files which no doubt have embadded, I bet.

This MASSIVE fail by Microsoft in NOT allowing end users / custome the RIGHT to either FULLY REMOVE or better still to BLOCK the Sender, and that's a HUGE blunder because it leaves EVEERY single Home User of Microsoft Once or even business in receiving unsoliciated junl, scammer and embedded phishing files to be sent to hundreds of millions of Microsoft customers.

So, Microsoft Developers & Management are you LOT going to start protecting YOUR customers from hackers & scammer and junk posters. I tell you one thing Apple products and rivals are loking FAR more appealling because I am trulyl sick & tired of NOT having the RIGHT to BLOCK a Sender or even truly remove a shared file(s) from my Onedrive account.

GET YOUIR ACT TOGETHER MICROSOFT!

A trully pissed off long term customer because you ONLY give two optinos Report a Concern which DOES NOT WORK MOST OF THE TIME and Remove from Shared List view. However, I have such a file even after almost 10 tries YOU at Microsoft DO NOT remove it - what the heck?

I'm pissed off and thinking seriously of moving over to Apple even though I don't like their O/S, as protection from hackers, scamers and phishing senders means absolutely ZERO!

I bet no Microsoft Developer or even from Microsoft Support will reply to this posting!

Well, I am now left with about 20 Shared Links I cannot even REPORT to MS as either a Concern or or even Hide, as I just keep getting the following error message

"Couldn't remove item from Shared list. The Provided item ID is not valid for the requested drive."

I have already done what MS support has mentioned to people with the EXACT same problem, as I am now left with about 20 Shared Links that's impossible to get rid of. I have already put in a ticket a while back, but STILL no reply from MS support about it in wanting ro get rid of them from my Shared List.

This situation which started for ALL of us users of Onedrive since early December, 2025, are now being inundated with Shared Links from Scammers and crooks, as they try to infect and/or steal or data. The situation is no doubt not just a problem for individuals, as I bet it's happening to small, medium, large and corporate clients of MS.

This is a MASSI:VE security breach that will soon overwhelm people's Onedrive Share List folder by the hundreds of monthly shared links that are not wanted or even welcomed wither, and will definitely open a Pandora's box of scammers & hackers gaining access to everyone's data that accidentaly opens such links without realising it as being basically a trojan horse to get inside.

I am now getting on average about 20 Shared Links PER DAY now, as I am now getting TRULY fed up with MS, as they appear to be sticking their heads in the sand in NOT wanting to listen to the consumer asking them to FIX this gaping hole in their security. Many have already stated they are NOW seriously thinking of dumping Microsoft accounts completely, and instead use rival software like Apple including other systems because we ALL take pride in trying to protect our DATA!

    So, MS Developers and support software engineers please fix this ASAP, and give us the following;

    1. The ability to block senders of Shared Links
    2. The option to STOP receiving Shared Links from ANYONE outside our email list of current contacts

Just an update on my situation. I had a “solution” given to me. I reported Malware for the files shared, each one I received, someone got back to me from MS support and they asked how many files and/or folders I had shared. I replied to the email from support and received another reply that said the following…

    1. Please log in into your OneDrive web account viahttps://onedrive.live.com.
    2. Go to shared tab.
    3. Select the file, click on "Hide from shared", select the option "Report this file as spam" and click on Remove.

    1. Sign out your account and sign in again.
    2. If you still find the file in shared section, please select the file, click on "Report a concern", choose the reason and click on Report.

We have already informed our engineering team, and they are actively investigating. In the meantime, please avoid interacting with any suspicious files or links, and continue marking related emails as spam to reduce further disruptions.

…this is myself typing now, not sure if the font changed. But it seems they have to, for some strange reason, give you the “Remove” option. I did it on the iPhone app and that option was actually there. Like 30 seconds after that each file and folder slowly disappeared from the list. I don’t know why we have to get the OK to remove items marked as spam. Hope is out there. It’s just a process that shouldn’t even be needed.

It sounds like you're experiencing significant issues with unsolicited files being shared with you on OneDrive, as well as a high volume of junk emails and phishing attempts. Here are some steps you can take to help mitigate these issues:

    1. Report and Block: While you mentioned that reporting does not seem effective, it's important to continue using the reporting features available in OneDrive and Outlook. Reporting suspicious files and emails helps Microsoft improve their filtering systems.
    2. Adjust Sharing Settings: Check your OneDrive sharing settings. You can adjust who can share files with you and limit sharing to only those you trust. This can help reduce unsolicited files from unknown sources.
    3. Use Email Filters: In Outlook, you can set up rules to filter out junk emails. This can help you manage the influx of spam and phishing emails more effectively.
    4. Enable Two-Factor Authentication: Ensure that you have two-factor authentication enabled for your Microsoft account. This adds an extra layer of security and can help protect your account from unauthorized access.
    5. Educate Yourself on Phishing: Familiarize yourself with common signs of phishing attempts, such as suspicious links or requests for personal information. This knowledge can help you avoid falling victim to scams.
    6. Contact Microsoft Support: If you're having persistent issues with specific files or spam, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They may be able to provide more tailored solutions or escalate your concerns.

While these steps may not completely eliminate the problem, they can help you manage and reduce the impact of unsolicited files and junk emails.

Personal OneDrive account receiving persistent scam shares from Hotmail accounts (******@hotmail.com, ******@hotmail.com). Files like "GET BTC 0" and "GET TRANSFER 5" reappear after "Hide from Shared" and reporting. No Delete/Block/Revoke option visible. Need backend removal or sender block. Also lost access to my files and had to unlink the OneDrive I can not get rid of the files.
