Hi @Martyna Sekuła

Thank you for reaching out via the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Based on the information you described, I understand that your subscription was extended automatically, and you are being charged monthly. However, your Office applications (like Excel and Word) are not working properly. Specifically, they are restricting you to "View Only" mode on your Mac.

Could you please confirm which specific Microsoft 365 license you are currently assigned?

  • If you have Microsoft 365 Business Basic, please note that this plan only includes the web and mobile versions of Office. It does not include the desktop applications for Mac or PC.
  • To edit on a Mac desktop app, you need a license like Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Premium, or an Education A3/A5 license.

If you are certain you have the correct license, please try the following troubleshooting steps to fix the activation issue:

-Make sure user licenses are assigned

  1. In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, go to the Users > Active users page.
  2. Select the row of the user that you want to assign a license to.
  3. In the right pane, select Licenses and Apps.
  4. Expand the Licenses section, select the boxes for the licenses that you want to assign, then select Save changes.
  5. If the license is already assigned, uncheck it, select Save changes, then check it again and select Save changes again.

-Sign out of Office and sign back in

  1. Open an Office app, such as Word.
  2. Select your name and profile picture or icon at the top.
  3. Select Sign out.
  4. Select Sign in.
  5. Make sure you are signed in with your Work or School account, not your personal Microsoft account.
  6. Try activating Microsoft 365 again.

-Use the Mac License removal tool

See How to remove Office license files on a Mac.

-Uninstall and Reinstall Office for Mac

Go to Admin Center > Support > Help & support

It sounds like you're experiencing issues with your Microsoft 365 subscription, specifically with activation and billing. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Subscription Status: Go to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center and check if your subscription is active. If it isn't, you may need to reactivate it.
    2. Recurring Billing: Ensure that recurring billing is turned on. In the Admin Center, select Billing > Your products, choose your subscription, and check the billing settings.
    3. Contact Support: If you believe there has been an unauthorized charge or if you need a refund, it’s best to contact Microsoft support directly for assistance. You can find support options here.
    4. Refund Requests: For refund requests, Microsoft support will be able to guide you through the process based on your specific situation.

If you continue to face issues, please reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance.

    I need technical support

Contacting Microsoft is impossible when you need help. They soon email you if problems with a payment though. Very poor service
