When trying to choose a backdrop for recording, it is always black, no matter what image I choose.

Has there been a new release. this was working fine up until recently. now the backdrop is black if I try and select one. I have tried on two windows 11 machines with the same result.

I am encountering the same issue. The application gets stuck in a loop and never manages to load the background. I have tried using both the Windows application and the Edge browser, but the problem persists, whether I try to import a background or select one from those offered in the application.

I have also tried uninstalling the app, restarting, reinstalling, clearing data, and so on, but nothing works.

Yet, this problem did not exist three weeks ago; now that I am using it again for a new video, the background feature no longer functions.

Hello Amit,

Thank you for sharing the details of your experience with Clipchamp. I understand how frustrating it can be when the backdrop you select always appears black especially when you’re trying to create a polished recording.

This issue often occurs due to compatibility or configuration settings within the app. A practical resolution is to verify your camera permissions and hardware acceleration settings. Clipchamp relies on your browser and system resources to render virtual backgrounds so if permissions are restricted or hardware acceleration is disabled the backdrop may default to black.

To resolve this check that your browser has granted camera access and enable hardware acceleration in your browser settings. Restart Clipchamp after making these changes and try selecting your backdrop again.

Could you confirm if you’ve already checked these settings or experienced similar issues in other applications?

thank you for your reply. It was working but then it stopped allowing backdrops. I have cleared my cache and restarted clipchamp and have normal wifi connection and still does not work.

Hello, I am also having the same issue. Hardware acceleration is enabled and Camera and microphone access granted. I have tried to add a backdrop in Chrome and Edge. I have also used a Windows PC, MacOS and Chromebook to no avail. Any help is appreciated
