Long booting time on Surface Go 3

Hi,
Recently, I’ve been experiencing very long booting times on my Surface Go 3. I tried repairing Windows and even reinstalling the entire system, but the booting was still much slower than before. Finally, I decided to perform a full recovery using the Surface Recovery Image, but without success. These are my latest boot times.

I have all latest updates (for example UEFI 16.106.143). And furthermore, I think the computer is stuck on the first loading screen with the Windows Logo (maybe something with the UEFI ?), booting on the second loading screen with the Win logo and rotating circle is quick as ever. Is there anything I can do?

I have installed 16.110.143.0 firmware update on surface go3, but it is still slow to boot UEFI. What can I do?

I downgrade the uefi firmware in ubuntu,follow R X's answer,it works,now the go3 start quickly.The latest uefi contans bugs make you go3 slower.When i downgrade the uefi to 11.200.143,the slow-start problem is gone,just like pic below.

On my Surface 3 Go the problem is fixed with the update today, login screen comes up max. 20 seconds after power on

I had a similar slowdown issue on my Surface device, and in my case the problem came from UEFI settings that were stuck after a Windows repair. Resetting UEFI to default, disabling Fast Boot, and then rebuilding the boot files with “bootrec /fixboot” and “bootrec /rebuildbcd” finally brought the startup time back to normal.

If the delay happens before the rotating circle appears, it usually means the firmware is waiting too long to initialize hardware. Removing all peripherals, resetting UEFI, and forcing a clean boot path can help.

For math and educational work, I normally use my Surface together with a TI-84 graphing calculator for quick checks, and this resource has been very helpful.

I have the very same issue, it started in early October 2025. The boot process seems stuck at the UEFI boot, for about a minute, then the system boots as usual. It is a quite annoying issue. I have not yet tried the workaround from 'linko 123'.

A case of me too and it started following the September 30 release [https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-go-3-update-history-f2a4db71-d2e3-42f5-8e8c-640f5acfe27b] which includes a UEFI firmware update.

I u/s these updates cannot be rolled back so the 'factory' reset I tried today didn't make any difference boot-wise. I couldn't work out how to get bootrec working ... access denied so it be useful to know others' experience.
