Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand how frustrating this must be, especially since you haven’t made any failed login attempts yourself. Sometimes Microsoft’s system flags unusual activity, like sign-ins from unfamiliar locations or devices, even if they weren’t yours. Syncing issues can also cause problems, especially if your password was recently changed but not updated across all your devices.
To get things back on track, it’s important to make sure your new password is updated everywhere on your phone, desktop Outlook, and any other apps that connect to your account. If one of them is still trying to use the old password, it could be causing the lockout.
You can also check your recent account activity at account.live.com/activity to see if there’s anything suspicious going on. If something looks off, you’ll be able to secure your account from there. Sometimes browser issues can get in the way too, so clearing your cache or trying a different browser when logging into Outlook Web might help.
Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) can also help secure your account and prevent future issues. You can check recent activity at account.live.com/activity, and if anything looks off, you’ll be able to take action from there.
Let me know if you need help with any of this, happy to help!
Warm regards,
Edward
