I HATE COPILOT. HOW DO I UNINSTALL IT? IT GETS IN MY WAY EVERY TIME I WORK ON A DOCUMENT. IT IS A MENACE TO CREATIVITY. I DO NOT LIKE CO-PILOT CORRECTING ME!

    Hi Katie Kintner,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I understand your frustration, having a pop up when you're trying to work can be distracting. If Copilot is getting in the way of your workflow, you can disable or remove it from Microsoft 365 apps following this guide: Turn off Copilot in Microsoft 365 apps - Microsoft Support:

    1. Open Word (or any Office app) > File > Options > Copilot
    2. Uncheck Enable Copilot > click OK and restart the app to test the behaviors

In addition, below is a guide if you want to disable or remove Copilot's features in Windows 11. These steps will stop it from getting in your way, allowing you to work on your documents. Your creativity should no longer be interrupted:

    • Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps > search for Copilot > Uninstall all instances
    • Open Registry Editor (advanced method, use with caution):
      • Press Win + R > type regedit > press Enter
      • Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
      • Right-click WindowsCopilot folder > create a new DWORD (32-bit) Value
      • Name it TurnOffWindowsCopilot and set value to 1 > click OK
      • Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.

Disclaimer: Generally, modifying registry subkeys or work group is intended for advanced users, administrators, and IT Professionals. It can help fix some problems, however, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For further protection, first check out How to back up and restore the registry in Windows - Microsoft Support

    Hi Katie Kintner!
    I actually disagree your comment...
Copilot is really helpful, very helpful indeed.
It helps you make documents, games, chat, even if your lonely!

Actually, sometimes Copilot might frustrate you or mis understand you,
    But still helpful!
