I do not want to have to enter a Hello PIN or password or login when rebooting PC or awakening it from sleep mode. It is extremely annoying. How do I get rid of it. Prior to enrolling for Win 10 ESU I had it set for no password, just left click on the user icon. My profile and Administrator (disabled) non expiring passwords. Please Help!

You can still use your ESU enrolled PC with a local account. You just need to remove your Microsoft account first, then switch to local. Local accounts doesn't require to have password, PIN etc to login.

I see. You can still switch back to your local account, since your PC is already ESU enrolled. Before doing that, back up or transfer your files to another disk drive or external drive.

    Hi C,

To permanently remove the need to enter a Windows Hello PIN, password, or any login prompt on your Windows 10 ESU PC (especially after reboot or waking from sleep), follow these steps:

First, Remove Windows Hello PIN and Password:

Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. Turn off "Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts". Under Windows Hello PIN, click Remove. If the "Remove" button is grayed out, disabling the Hello requirement (step above) should unlock it. You may need to enter your current password to confirm.

Second, enable Auto Login (Skip Login Screen on Boot):

Press Win + R, type netplwiz, and hit Enter. In the User Accounts window, uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Click Apply, then enter your password to confirm. This will auto-login your account on boot.

Third, Disable Password on Wake from Sleep:

Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. Under "Require sign-in", set it to Never. If this option is missing, temporarily set a password, change the setting, then remove the password again. The setting should stick.

This is optional (Advanced): Disable PIN via Group Policy or Registry (if needed):

If you're still prompted for a PIN, use Group Policy Editor (Pro/Enterprise only):

    • Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
    • Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Logon
    • Double-click "Turn on convenience PIN sign-in", set it to Disabled, then click Apply.

Or use Registry Editor (for all editions):

    • Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
    • Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Settings\AllowSignInOptions
    • Set the value of value to 0

Let me know what happens by replying here.

    Regards,
