    Dear Jane Detwiler,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Community. I understand that your Outlook/Hotmail account was hacked, you changed your password, and now you are not receiving emails. I’m happy to assist you with this. Please try the following steps:

    1. Check Account Recovery and Security Settings

    • Sign in to Microsoft Account Security.
    • Review Recent Activity to ensure no unauthorized access remains.
    • Confirm your Recovery Email and Phone Number are correct.

    2. Verify Inbox Rules and Filters

    • Go to Outlook Settings > Mail > Rules.
    • Delete any suspicious rules that may be forwarding or deleting emails.
    • Check Junk Email Settings and unblock any legitimate senders.

    3. Check Blocked Senders and Safe Senders

    • Navigate to Settings → Mail → Junk Email.
    • Remove any legitimate domains or addresses from the blocked list.

    4. Review Connected Accounts and Forwarding

    • In Settings > Mail > Forwarding, ensure no unauthorized forwarding is set up.
    • Remove any unknown connected accounts.

    5. Clear Cached Credentials

    • On Windows, open Credential Manager > Windows Credentials.
    • Remove any old Outlook credentials and restart your device.

    6. Test Email Delivery

    • Send yourself a test email from another account.
    • If it still doesn’t arrive, check your Outlook.com storage quota and ensure it’s not full.

If all steps fail please kindly contact Microsoft Support

    1. Visit this website:  Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. Type your problems in the search box there. ( For example, Contact support.)
    3. Now click on Get Help and select Contact Support below.
    4. Go to the Products & Services tab and choose the Outlook category
    5. On the Category tab, choose based on your actual problem.
    6. Go to Confirm.
    7. Choose to chat with a support representative or request a call back.

Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, so if the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.
