Hello Mark Beaudin,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
You're right that redeeming 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points is one of the available options to enroll in Extended Security Updates (ESU) program for Windows 10. It's very easy to do that, but before you begin, you must ensure:
- Your PC is running the latest updates of Windows 10 (22H2)
- You must be signed in with a Microsoft account
- You need at least 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points
If you've fulfilled all the requirements, you should see a prompt for ESU enrollment on your PC. Open Windows Settings, navigate to Update & Security > Windows Update. If eligible, you’ll see a message like Enroll in Extended Security Updates to stay protected...
Click Enroll Now and a window will appear with three options like the image below. All you need to do next is to tick the box for Redeem Microsoft Rewards Points, click Next and follow the instructions on screen to confirm your redemption.
You can track your Rewards points at https://rewards.bing.com, and I hope you can enroll in ESU as soon as possible. Let me know if you don’t see the option or any error appears.
