No option to upgrade to Windows 11

Windows update claims that our PC meets the minimum requirements for Windows 11, but it doesn't provide an option to actually update to Windows 11. It says that "specific timing for when it will be offered can vary," making it sound like it's coming but just isn't available yet... but Windows 11 has been out for years, and Windows 10 support is ending soon, so that doesn't make sense to me.

I manually verified that our system indeed meets all of the requirements for Windows 11, so I don't know what the issue is. System details are in the screenshot below; any help would be appreciated.

Hi, good day!

I recommend using the Windows 11 Installation assistant to upgrade to Windows 11 manually.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

Note: It's always a good practice to backup your important files first before performing any Windows upgrade or reinstallation.

Few things to check on the PC

  • Unplug all external peripherals except for the Mouse, Keyboard, and LAN cable before starting
  • Disable or uninstall any third-party Antivirus program to prevent it from interfering with the upgrade

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comment" below.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, but it didn't work. It made it most of the way through (step 3 of 3 - installing) but then gave me a "something went wrong" error, code 0x8007007f. What should I try now?

    Windows 11 upgrade error code

    Thanks,

    Steven
