My PC using Windows 11 home 24h2. But i set a pin to my pc to protect it (all alphabet). Sometime i lock my pc and when want to log in again, i sometimes miss click a character so its wrong. Several times Windows has locked my PC and I have to restart it to get it back. But today its not like that, i miss click again but now the text says "This sign-in-option is disabled because of failed sign-in attempt or repeated shutdowns. Use a different sign-in option, or keep your device powered on for at least 2 hour and then try again". Btw i didn't repeat shutdown. Okay I'm waiting, but its been 2 hour and its still like this, locked. Can someone help me? Or its just me need to sleep? (21:27 now on my country)1000033778

Thats the picture of my PC condition

Hi ceilah rek,

Thank you for raising your concern on the Microsoft Q&A Forum! I know how frustrating it is to be locked out, especially when you just mistyped your PIN.

The message you’re seeing is Windows 11’s security mechanism kicking in to protect your device after several incorrect PIN entries. Sometimes this lockout doesn’t automatically clear after 2 hours, especially if the device goes to sleep or restarts during the wait. Here is how we can fix this now and also set up safer back-ups so it doesn’t block you in the future:

1 - Restart in Safe Mode:

  • Hold Shift and click Restart from the lock screen.
  • Go to Troubleshoot → Advanced options → Startup Settings → Restart.
  • Choose Safe Mode and sign in with your password.

2 - Reset PIN:

  • From the sign-in screen, click I forgot my PIN and follow the steps (requires internet and Microsoft account).

3 - Advanced (use only if you’re comfortable):

After signing in with an admin account, delete the contents of the NGC folder to fully reset Windows Hello data, then set up the PIN again: C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC

Note: You’ll need admin rights, and you may need to take folder ownership first. Only do this if normal PIN reset options aren’t available.

Consider setting up an additional sign‑in method like Windows Hello Face or Fingerprint (if your device supports it) to prevent this in the future.

I look forward to receiving your update. Let me know if you need further assistance, feel free to ask me by clicking "Add Comment". Thanks for your effort.
