Hi ,
Well, in this case, this error is usually a problem with the USB cable. If possible, test with another USB cable and put it in the USB 3.0 ports on your desktop and test again.

Suddenly, my game controller stopped being recognized by my PC, plugging it into another USB port does nothing. I connected my controller to another PC and it works just fine.
In device manager it shows "Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" I tried manually updating the unknown usb device's drivers but it shows me the manufacturers and when I find Microsoft there are no controller drivers.
I tried manually installing xbox 360 controller drivers but the message "The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device." pops out, the xbox 360 driver I downloaded is Xusb21. Sometimes out of nowhere it will work if I just keep repeating these processes over and over or right after a restart, but the next day I have the same problem.
Maybe I need an updated version of Xusb21? but I cant find it anywhere.
Please help I have no idea what to do.
[EDIT]
The problem was the USB cable, changing it solved the issue
