Hi Bjarne Petersen,
Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with copy-paste not working in Remote Desktop (RDP) due to domain-level Group Policy restrictions. This is a common scenario in managed environments, and you can configure the settings if you have Admin rights following the suggestions mentioned in these articles:
- RDP clipboard copy and paste is not working
- Copy Paste Not Working in Remote Desktop Connection (Solved)

1 - Check Group Policy on the remote machine
- Press Win + R > type
gpedit.msc> Enter > Navigate to:- Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Device and Resource Redirection
- Set Do not allow clipboard redirection to Disabled.
- Open Command Prompt (admin) > run
gpupdate /force> restart RDP session.
2 - Check the RDP client settings
- Open Remote Desktop Connection > Local Resources tab.
- Ensure Clipboard is checked.
- Click More… and ensure Drives are also checked.
However, if you don’t have admin rights, you may not be able to change these settings yourself. In the case that your system is managed by an organization, you’ll need to contact your IT administrator and request that clipboard redirection be enabled for your user or session.
